The Canton Fair, known as the barometer and weathervane of China's foreign trade, is being held in Guangzhou, China. The first phase of the 135th China Import and Export Fair in 2024 ended successfully yesterday. With the theme of "serving high-quality development and promoting high-level opening up", the 135th Canton Fair will hold offline exhibitions in three phases from April 15 to May 5 and operate online platforms on a regular basis. The exhibition area is 1.55 million square meters, with 55 exhibition areas. The total number of booths is about 74,000 (72,000 at the export exhibition and 1,557 at the import exhibition), and 29,000 exhibitors (28,600 at the export exhibition and 680 at the import exhibition).

• The first is to optimize the theme structure. On the basis of maintaining the advantages of comprehensive exhibitions, the professional sections are highlighted. The first, second and third phases are themed "Advanced Manufacturing", "Quality Home" and "Better Life" respectively; strengthening the cultivation of new energy vehicles and smart travel, industrial automation and smart manufacturing , new energy and other new themes, and the "Three New Things" related exhibition areas, greatly expanding the smart life area, focusing on consolidating 7 inter-scheduled exhibition areas such as building materials, bathrooms, toys, maternity and infants, etc., to make the exhibition themes more distinct and the themes more closely coordinated.
• Second, export exhibition services develop new productive forces. There are 2,606 brand enterprises in this Canton Fair, and there are more than 5,500 high-quality and characteristic enterprises with titles such as national high-tech, manufacturing individual champions, specialization, special new little giants, etc., an increase of 20% over the previous session; there are more than 4,300 new exhibitors; private enterprises The proportion of enterprises increased to 91%. It is expected that more than 1 million new products, more than 450,000 green and low-carbon products, and more than 250,000 independent intellectual property products will be exhibited on site.
• The third is to expand the source of import exhibitions. The exhibition area of the import exhibition is 30,000 square meters, with 680 international companies participating, and their origins have expanded to 50 countries and regions, of which 64% are companies from countries co-building the "Belt and Road".
• The fourth is to introduce new trade formats. For the first time, a comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot area and an overseas warehouse display area were set up on a trial basis, covering an area of 3,000 square meters. The online platform focuses on promoting 165 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones.

 

This Canton Fair comprehensively improves service efficiency

 

• The first is to improve the efficiency of certificate processing. Continue to promote early application, remote application, and 24-hour application. There are 271 overseas purchaser certification groups set up in exhibition halls, airports, ports, and hotels, 34 more than the previous session, which greatly shortens the waiting time for certification during peak periods.
• The second is to improve the payment environment in the library. Add foreign currency exchange machines, mobile POS machines and other equipment to improve payment convenience.
• The third is to strengthen transportation security. Increase investment in transportation capacity and increase the frequency of subway services during peak periods. Strengthen traffic diversion, optimize the harbor-style boarding and alighting area, and add bus parking spaces. Improve the efficiency of truck dispatching, implement a time-based and segmented reservation system, and guide trucks to accurately drive into the waiting area.
• The fourth is to enrich catering services. The dining area of the West Comprehensive Service Center in Zone D of the exhibition hall was newly added, with the number of dining points increased to 74, the maximum number of meals served in a single day reaching 104,000, and the number of dining seats increased to 14,400. Improve the catering system, add new varieties of Western fast food, vegetarian and Cantonese dishes, and strengthen convenient meal ordering and delivery services.
• The fifth is to upgrade the overall image. Increased investment in beautifying the environment and setting up multiple internet celebrity check-in points gave the exhibition hall a completely new look.
• Sixth, create a good atmosphere. Organize social publicity and cultural promotion activities such as the theme display of Canton Tower, the light show along the Pearl River, the live lion dance and English singing and dancing performances in the exhibition hall, the performance of the musical "Canton and the World", and the premiere of the documentary.
• Seventh, expand trade services. A special trade service area has been set up, and 209 trade service companies have been introduced to provide 7 major categories of services, including logistics and warehousing, testing and certification, and financial insurance, to help companies open up all links in the entire trade chain.
• Eighth, strengthen intellectual property protection. Continue to set up a complaint reception station, and invite experts from the national, Guangdong Provincial and Guangzhou Municipal Intellectual Property Administration and trade arbitration institutions to participate in guidance and provide one-stop solutions to issues such as intellectual property protection and contract performance during the exhibition.

• The first is to organize more green and low-carbon products to participate in the exhibition. Mobilize trading groups and enterprises to organize more intelligent, environmentally friendly, green and low-carbon products to participate in the exhibition, helping the green manufacturing industry to become bigger and stronger and open up the international market.
• The second is to implement regular green exhibition layout. Offline exhibitions will strengthen implementation in accordance with the goal of 100% penetration rate of green booths, and strengthen exhibition solid waste control and noise control. • The third is to accelerate the transformation of standard results.
